Star Wars, the baroque version

Star WarsStar Wars is an epic space opera franchise and a fictional universe initially developed by George Lucas during the 1970s and expanded since that time. The first film was Star Wars (later retitled Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope), which was released on May 25, 1977 by 20th Century Fox. The film became a worldwide pop culture phenomenon, spawning two sequels subtitled The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Twenty-two years after the first Star Wars film was released, a prequel trilogy, set before the original trilogy, was released.(more information)

Star Wars actors, 30 years ago and now

Star-Wars is the best movie i’ve ever seen. i found these pictures. enjoy ! ;)

Here is some trivia about this icon of the 20th Century.

  • Luke Skywalker’s name was originally going to be Dirk Starkiller.
  • Peter Mayhew, who played Chewbacca, worked as a hospital orderly in London before being cast as the Wookiee. He was said to have got into character by copying the mannerisms of animals he visited at the zoo.

The Golden Compass Official Teaser TrailerFantasy movies are always exciting, mainly because we get to see so very few of them. The Golden Compass looks very promising. The movie is based on Philip Pullman’s book, which is the first one in a lovely trilogy.

It looks like a movie for children at first glance, and so did the book, but I think it’s a bit misleading. The plot isn’t simple and there’s a lot of philosophy going around.

And the plot:
